Would you like to refinish old brass bed. Can I spray paint? If so, what would be a nice finish?

We have an old brass bed metal 70's (brilliant – cheap looking) and give it a more classic. It's for our son of 24 who, so you must have a male gaze. Open to all suggestions and general comments. If we can spray paint it, we are thinking black or antique bronze. thoughts?

Preparation of metal is the key to achieving results. It must be clean. Once your cleaning to where you think your right … put on rubber golv and wipe with a cloth dampened with acetone. DO NOT touch metal with bare hands. Then sprinkle with 2 light coats then priming layers of color after the address paints used. My preference would be to use devices such epoxy paint. They are VERY resistant to scratches.
