What kind of paint can be used to restore a 1950 vintage porcelain lamp?

I have a lamp oriental figures of the decade 1950 that is missing some paint. I love to restore the light, but do not know what kind of paint to use. Any suggestions?

I would suggest acrylic, but the wide variety of quality artists, not Folkart things you can pick up at Walmart. Acrylic paint is quite multi-functional, and it sticks to anything. Not to mention, it mixes very well, so you can get practically any color you need by mixing colors. Good luck restoring your lamp.
