When and how was China rose beetle introduced to Hawaii?

We are studying the invasion of exotic species into one of my classes and need information. on China Rose beetle. Thank you.

Hello … never seen before .. Yuck! and I thought that increased chaffers were bad. Anyway I hope this helps, but I'm sure you can find much more information, wikpida box or go to the local library near you. Best of luck. "The most damaging insect pest affecting roses in Hawaii is undoubtedly China Rose beetle. Every year, nocturnal beetles feed in groups, devouring the soft pink petals (between veins), leaving behind a lace-like pattern (image) in the remainder. During the day they hide in the floor or under of fallen leaves. A method of controlling the beetle is the insecticide "Sevin" in powder form, which will keep the beetles away from approximately 10 days or less. Its use, however, can also kill beneficial insects like bees and ladybugs. Another suggestion is the use of bright lights in their plants at dusk for a few hours (maximum power is produced below). This can be effective in keeping the beetles away from your rose plants as they are strangely drawn by bright light. "Blues Wendy green spider.
