Ando Utagawa
I have pictures of Japanese painters of the 19th century, as Kuniyoshi and Hiroshige Yoshida. How can I sell?

I am a church volunteer who lives Columbia, MO. Our church started to have some paintings of 19th century Japanese artists, including Utagawa Kuniyoshi (歌川国芳), Hiroshi Yoshida (吉田博) and Ando Hiroshige (歌川広重). I'm trying to see how much they are worth, and how it would be able to sell them. One of them is东海道五拾三次之内日本桥朝之景

First you need to contact an appraiser certified art to determine its value, then you can contact with an art auction house to sell the paintings for you to get the best value. These are the artists renowned and the works should be valued. You can do preliminary research for a small fee ($ 29.50 for a month access) through the site that lists AskArt.com artists, biographical information and auction sale prices. O Artnet.com that the lists of paintings, galleries, auction houses, etc. I do, get the representation a good reputation and do something like put it on eBay without knowing their market value. Look at the links that provide additional information. Take precautions when showing these works to anyone – not to take people home, and do not show themselves, always have someone with you. It might be better if you try to sell privately to arrange meetings at the church with several church members in attendance.

Hiroshige Tokaido
An old man in Japan gave me an old painting of Hiroshige, "Map of the stages 53 of Tokaido".?

They are in excellent condition, is deserve?

If genuine, this is probably a woodcut print. If you are in good condition, could be worth approximately $ 1000. Contact one of the major auction houses like Sotheby's and Christies or to obtain an estimate. They do this for free in the hope that it will sell they.

Utagawa Hiroshige
How do you pronounce "Hiroshige"?

The last name is definitely "Hee-ro-shih-gah" – second syllable sharp, short third.
