I have pictures of Japanese painters of the 19th century, as Kuniyoshi and Hiroshige Yoshida. How can I sell?
I am a church volunteer who lives Columbia, MO. Our church started to have some paintings of 19th century Japanese artists, including Utagawa Kuniyoshi (歌川国芳), Hiroshi Yoshida (吉田博) and Ando Hiroshige (歌川広重). I'm trying to see how much they are worth, and how it would be able to sell them. One of them is东海道五拾三次之内日本桥朝之景
First you need to contact an appraiser certified art to determine its value, then you can contact with an art auction house to sell the paintings for you to get the best value. These are the artists renowned and the works should be valued. You can do preliminary research for a small fee ($ 29.50 for a month access) through the site that lists AskArt.com artists, biographical information and auction sale prices. O Artnet.com that the lists of paintings, galleries, auction houses, etc. I do, get the representation a good reputation and do something like put it on eBay without knowing their market value. Look at the links that provide additional information. Take precautions when showing these works to anyone – not to take people home, and do not show themselves, always have someone with you. It might be better if you try to sell privately to arrange meetings at the church with several church members in attendance.
