Kwan Yin
How do I know the difference between a head of antiquities and a buddah Kwan Yin?

The Buddha usually has nothing in his head. Her hair can be done in a high chignon, but it's all hair. Kwan Yin is usually with some kind of crown or elaborate headdress.

Buddhist devotions to bodhisattva?

I have a friend who is new to Buddhism. He is in love with the Bodhisattva Guan Yin. He has a deep devotion to it. No Bodhisattva Buddhist worship? How often these people worship? What is the difference between a Buddha and a bodhisattva? My friend is new in this so he really can not answer for me. I think he wants to join the Tibetan Buddhists. Thank you.

Is it bad to get Quan Yin tattooed on his left leg, in addition to her parents' knowledge?

Is it bad to get Quan Yin tattooed on his leg left, besides his parents to find out?

The only way he would do "bad" in my opinion, is that if you did not know none of Quan Yin, or what she represents. If you are old enough to get a tattoo on their own, their parents should have no say in what you get. Just make sure it is something you really want, preferably something that means something and never change.

Yin Statue
we have to do with the statue of Kuan Yin we had bought before putting it on the altar?

Its really a matter of superstition, especially for the Chinese Buddhist sect in which to give the statue of a monk or a monastery so they could pray and clean the statue, then give an auspicious date you can come and take the statue home. For me, this practice is really a cultural issue and not part of Buddhism at all, its more Taoist. The best thing is do and the more rational, is a good altar clean clean, put some water as a sign of purity of heart, offers 3 sticks of incense as a sign of the Three Jewels of Buddhism and fresh flowers as a sign of beauty and serenity. Get the family to pay respect at the altar and then on a daily basis offer incense with a pure heart. People bring in Kuan Yin statues for home and business for different reasons, mainly, and without it, for luck. The Buddhist scriptures state that the Buddha mind is found throughout the world and have a statue is simply to remind you of its practices and to be moral and good people. However, I understand the culture and deep-seated belief that when you pray Kuan Yin, please include a prayer for all sentient beings and their own family. Thus, the fate is shared by all.
